What is ToneShield Hydrating Formula?
ToneShield is a premium, daily cosmetic cream designed to visibly clarify and refresh the appearance of mature skin—especially skin that is prone to a bruised, sun-damaged appearance. It provides lasting, comforting hydration for a more even-looking, healthy vitality.
Is ToneShield a drug? Does it prevent or heal bruises?
No. ToneShield is strictly a cosmetic product designed for external use on intact skin. It is not a first-aid ointment or a medical treatment. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent bruising or any underlying medical condition. Its purpose is entirely appearance-based and focused on cosmetic comfort and hydration.
When should I expect to see visible changes?
Because skin types and visible marks vary widely, there is no single universal timeline. Most users immediately enjoy the comforting, non-greasy hydration, while the visual benefits of a more even, healthy-looking tone build with regular, consistent daily use.
Where can I apply ToneShield?
Use on clean, dry, intact skin. It was expertly formulated for areas of the body that mark easily, including:
- Hands and forearms
- Shins and lower legs
- Other sun-exposed areas prone to a bruised appearance
Note: For facial use, avoid the immediate eye area and do not apply on lips or mucous membranes. We recommend a patch test before applying to the face.
How much should I use?
A little goes a long way. Apply a thin, pea-to-dime-sized amount per area. Applying a thick layer is not necessary and will not speed up absorption; a thin, even layer absorbs comfortably and evenly.
Can it be layered with sunscreen or other skincare?
Yes. Protecting delicate skin from further UV damage is essential. Apply a thin layer of ToneShield, allow it to absorb fully, and then apply your daily sunscreen.
Pro-Tip: If you notice the product rolling or forming little balls when layered (pilling), you are likely applying too much. Try using a thinner layer, allow extra time to set, and avoid rubbing excessively during application.
Can I use it on broken, irritated, or freshly scraped skin?
No. ToneShield is for external use on intact skin only. Do not apply to broken skin, open cuts, active rashes, or irritated areas. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.
Does ToneShield contain retinol or exfoliating acids (AHAs/BHAs)?
No, it does not. Many products targeted at mature skin rely on harsh ingredients like glycolic acid and retinol, which can sting delicate skin and actually increase sun sensitivity. ToneShield is intentionally formulated without these harsh ingredients, utilizing our Triad System (Tranexamic Acid, Arnica montana, and Ruscus Extract) to condition the skin without the stinging common to harsh acids.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
ToneShield is completely fragrance-free and formulated to be as routine-friendly as possible for delicate skin. However, everyone's skin is different. If you have a history of cosmetic sensitivities, we recommend reviewing the full ingredient list and performing a standard patch test before your first full use.
I am on blood thinners / I bruise easily. Can I use ToneShield?
ToneShield is a topical cosmetic designed for use on intact skin. If you are prone to marking easily, it can be a comforting addition to your daily cosmetic routine. However, if you are noticing new, unusual, or severe bruising, that is best evaluated medically.
I am pregnant or nursing. Can I use ToneShield?
ToneShield is a leave-on cosmetic. If you are pregnant or nursing, many people prefer to run any new skincare product by their clinician. You can review our ingredient preview now, and the full ingredient list (INCI) will be published at launch.
